Memories, Part 1

Dextra, I remember when you left for Borneo to learn some traditional meditation and shamanic methods from the natives there. We had been shacked up together in that small apartment in mechanicsville, but the 'lease' was expiring, you had the offer in Borneo, and I was looking at heading to Marrakesh to see what it had to offer (which in turn led me to Cairo with Blinky, where I first met Jaysin).

The night was really foggy, but that city fog that seems to collect around streetlights like giant wet moths. You had packed up your sunglasses collection in one bag, and a change of cloths and a bunch of piercing jewelry in another, and we walked out the door and I remember looking back at the apartment, seeing it without your stuff, and knowing that I would have to move on now, I couldn't go back there. We walked slowly and silently through the city fog, as our clothes got heavier and damper, until we got to the bus station. We were both so damp that we both were able to hide the fact that we were both crying.
